And this style of appointments need to change. I can't believe I am going to say this, but...we need to be like the federal government.
With the feds someone gets appointed, they don't start work till they get confirmed. In comparison, someone can serve 30 years on a commission/board in WA and have never been confirmed.
I believe in WA you should get appointed, and then the time the next legislative session comes around you MUST get confirmed.
No more of this confirmation hearing and no vote occurring, so you can keep your job. A confirmation hearing MUST occur AND a vote MUST occur!
