I hope so. It's been over a year now that he has owned it.

Be sure you can get musket caps. They're impossible to find just about anyplace and online.....

I'm going to have to drive 200 miles round trip to buy some.... :bash:
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

:yeah: I had a heck of a time finding them last year when I had to make the switch from #11 caps. I didn't read the description well enough when I bought the rifle and I assumed the new NW edition breech plugs would have a removable nipple like previous NW legal CVA's. I was quite surprised when I pulled the BP out when I got the rifle and noticed the nipple was integral to the BP. I'm still hoping CVA will make a NW legal BP with a #11 nipple or at least a removable nipple.

Didn't I read something about CVA updating their breech plugs in the last year?

they upgraded it to a harder nipple that they epoxy into place so its non removable. The problem with inlines that are break actions and nipples. Each brand of nipple is either longer or shorter and when you close the rifle shut, if it has a longer than factory spec nipple, BANG! This is their way to make sure you don't crap your pants by installing a longer nipple without knowing what can happen.

Heard these were having trouble with misfires so CVA redesigned the breach plug. Anyone try out one of these guns with the new BP to see if the issue was really fixed??

:yeah: I had CVA ship me the updated breech plug and have had no issues since. The updated breech plug has a harder steel nipple than the original BPs. The only thing I don't like about the new BP is the long flash hole. I wish they would have kept the hollowed out design of the original to keep the powder closer to the musket cap.
