Arrow comparison

I'm currently shooting Carbon Express Maxims hunters, but need to order some more.  I thought I'd seen a really good unbiased test of arrows online last year, but can't find it now.  Can anybody point me to a good rigorous comparison of different hunting arrows?

I think Michael Phelps should stick to swimming and leave grading arrows to someone who knows a little something about arrows

I think you will have a better chance of getting an unbiased report between Ford, Dodge and Chevy than you will arrow shafts.  Especially in print media where publishing companies risk losing those huge advertising dollars.

Lol yea ive shot a lot of arrows the last few years and some arrows are what they say so arnt. I like carbon express they just seem to be a little fragile but the spine and straightness seems great.

For the past five years folks have been telling me Carbon Express arrows are fragile.  I haven't found them any less fragile than any other all carbon arrow of the same size.  Maybe all the rocks and sticks I hit are soft   I can't remember ever breaking one without it being in an animal or shooting it with another arrow.  I have hit some things hard enough the insert comes out a little, but that's been about it.

As I understand it from long time staffers the first few years they made the Maxima shaft it was a little brittle.  According to them that is the reason they started using the Bull Dog collar.  Whether that is true or not I don't know as I've only been shooting them for about five years now.  What I do know for sure is that the ones I've been shooting have been above average in durability, accuracy, spine consistency and my reason for shooting them...spline consistency.  Only all carbon arrows I have had compete in those categories' has been Carbon Tech.  But almost all the carbon arrows today are pretty darn good. 

About the only all carbon ones I will no longer shoot are Easton.  I've been disappointed with their consistency each time I've tried Easton's all carbon.  I buy Easton and/or Beman for the wife every other year.  Being anal retentive like I am I sort for straightness, uniformity, spine and spline.  With one exceptional batch of Beman a few years ago I usually get 18 or 20 premium shafts with every four dozen Easton/Beman I buy.

I do use Easton's Micro nocks in my Carbon Express shafts as the CE nocks have been poor and Easton's are great.  I also love the X-Nock on my ACC Pro Hunting shafts.  I shoot the ACC about 30% of the time.  It's heavier, but an absolutely great shaft with great components.

I have always shot gold tip xt or pro's. Received a gift card so splurged and bought some CE red shafts. Shot them the first time yesterday and loved them. Doubt I will go back to GT's.
