That sounds pretty good.

What do you do for magazines and bolts for that round? Are they 6.8 parts, or ???

Also, how much powder are you burning with 125gr bullets in the A-30?

I use a 6.8 SPC bolt and ASC stainless 6.8 mag's.

A mid range load I use is 32.2gr of AA2200 with a 125.

Thanks for the info.

I assume you just use 6.8 brass? Any special case forming requirements, or do you just run it in the FL die?

I use a set of .30 Harrett dies and 6.8 SPC brass. One pass through the die which is "Stood off" from the shell holder seeing that the 6.8 case is longer than the Harrett. Then I trim the case to 1.620, load and fire, the first firing blows the shoulder out and sharpens it ever so slightly. No. Noticeable difference so for between first fired loads and reloaded brass already fired through my chamber. Fairly forgiving chambering so far. Reminds me of a 6x45 for ease of loading and load development.

So far that American 30 is wanting to shoot. I used a box of Sierra 125gr Pro-Hunters to get a feel for it and put some rounds on the barrel. I've fired a 90 some rounds now using H335 and AA2200, the bullet is way short and I'm wondering if there is a stability issue with the Sierra and the 11 twist, no matter. I didn't plan on using them anyway. They shoot tight at 100 & 200 yards and open up to a average of 4" inches of so at 300 yards, I haven't shot any beyond that. Now that I have fired cases, I'll go with my bullet of choice the 125gr Nosler Accubond. It is quite a bit longer for weight than the Sierra.

Plan on also trying RL-7. Switched the stock out, replaced the fixed MagPul stock with a ACS-L which gives me a much better hold and adjustment for when shooting between min & max power with the optics.

Here is a cute little toy I built awhile back. It's a little fire breather.

Right now, anything that goes bang lol. Honestly I haven't made it that far yet. I need to get some good glass and dial it in before I start tinkering.
