Most lakes are still fairly cold, The small mouths are starting to venture into the weed beds tho 3-4 ft range. After Easter it should be game on for buckets

The two best largemouth trips in my 30+ years of bass fishing Washington occurred in March in sub 50 degree water. April is nice but the males get more active and while numbers may increase in my opinion the size average goes down. Nope, someone put bad juju on my fishing gear!  :chuckle:

Ran back up to Terrell in Ferndale this morning and while the weather took an outright nose dive I was still happy to have a day off and to be on the water again! First 3 hours was searching and switching techniques trying to figure out the puzzle? Got the first hit messing around with a frog rig, he missed it but told me he was in 2 feet of water near newly emergent lily pads. Had another miss on the frog so I switched my jig and flipping rig over to a similar color and boated two flipping the outside edge of reeds in about 2-3'. Only caught 2 small ones but the skunk is officially GONE for 2014!

Finally......I bet Jeff was getting tired of you moping around the office. Looks like you kinda got your mojo back, but ya better start stepping up your game if you are going to be fishing NW this year.

It's a start at least  :chuckle:

Not sure who Jeff is? Don't work in an office and if 'NW' refers to a tournament series or event I don't do that either, just love the sport

:lol4: No worries. Makes sense now. Be glad you're not me....or you would have gotten skunked again today and somehow lost a $160 Shimano Crucial with a $75 Shimano reel attached  :bash: :bash: :bash: Not sure what happened? After sitting down to retie a couple rods I stood up and  :dunno: one rod less on the deck???  :bash: :bash: :bash: It probably got tired of the lack of action this year and drowned itself?!! You know your having a bad year fishing when your gear gets suicidal  :yike:  :'(  :bash:   :cryriver:

Well, I have seen that happen 2 times on my buddies boat. 2 rods just seem to jump off the deck and leap into the water when the boat is at a high rate of speed......tried to catch it but I was just hanging onto the grab bars. Both spinning rods, and one had less than a dozen casts on it.

Ouch! My favorite is when you're on em and go to pick up a rod and fail to realize it slid under the cleat...SNAP! That move has cost me two over the years  :bash: I don't know what happened with this one? I can only imagine the tip got into the water somehow and caught enough resistance that it just quietly cantilevered over the edge and sank silently into the abyss?  :dunno: Oh well, life goes on....nothing a trip to the local Cabelas couldn't fix ($240 later). If I didn't need it for this weekend I would have ordered it from someone else as I am burned out on Cabelas and their crap selection  :bash:

I actually have not been down there in a long time. Bought some reels from Limit Out, and although they do not have a huge selection, what they do have is nice stuff.

I would give anything for Sportsman's Warehouse to move back in to Burlington! I miss that place tremendously  :'(

I'm holding out hope for the Bass Pro Sops in Tacoma but I am afraid they will be another Cabelas boutique store all about the ambiance and not the selection.  :bash:
