Dave Campbell Fish Taxidermy

I'm a new member to the forum, & found Dave Campbell at your Trophy room area. All I can say is WOW!!! So lifelike/natural looking
Checked out his website. I have been a fish taxidermist for 30+ years & when I see work like that it both inspires me & makes me feel like throwing in the towel. There are a handfull of what I would consider the top of their game, The Best there is , Masters of the craft...... Dave Cambell is there, does not get much better! It is so hard to take something that lives in the water, dies, gets handled, processed, fades, dries out, shrinks, has to be rebuilt in areas, sealed, painted & attempt to make look Natural again. Even with replicas, the shrinkage is not an issue, and yes they have good scale definition, but you start out with a synthetic blank white or silver & start from there. WOW, Awesome!!! Red Leaf

Dave's work is superlative. He has won best in the world awards at the biggest taxidermy shows around. The research, artistry and time he has put into his craft is amazing. I really can't imagine anyone doing better fish taxidermy work.

Wow!!!! I have been wanting to have a replica of my 26 pound steelhead but haven't found a taxidermist that I really liked as far as for fish. This guy is going to get my business! Awesome work!! Thanks for sharing!

Keep in mind...how do I put this...that kind of artistry commands a premium rate. Don't be shocked.

Most taxidermy that is worth while is expensive. I have yet to see an inexpensive mount of any kind that does not look like a third grader did it. You get what you pay for.

Absolutely.
I wasn't comparing to anything I would call remotely "inexpensive".

Dave did a steelhead for me about 7 or 8 years ago. Looks like it did the second it came out of the water. It is a beautiful work of art.
Only took about 2 years from time of order but it was worth it.

Looking forward to picking up some tips from Dave at the Idaho Taxidermy Convention. He's definitely one of the best.
