The side pockets are huge, fits my spotting scope and tripod easily.
Yes the side pockets are nice and deep. I have my spotter in one side and tripod on the other side. I hang my water bladder from the loop that is inside the main bag. Where you keeping your water bladder?

I'm going to hang it in the right side pocket I think. Going to give it a try tomorrow and hike up rattlesnake ridge or little si and see how it balances

This is a joke right?  Stone Glacier and the Exo are tops in my book of new packs coming out in 2014.

The Kuiu packs are a bondo filled sports car with a fresh paint job and 200K miles on the motor.  Don't look too deep....you will find lots of issues.

Just don't use the kuiu as a chair!

Took mine out for a 3 mile hike to get it adjusted properly. 50lbs felt like 10 and I really like the hip belt padding and the power pull belt

Maybe they did but they just put out the Ultra that got less than stellar reviews compared to the stone glacier and Exo pack.  Two months later they release the ICON PRO with a better belt than the ultra.  In my opinion, they should have launched them both with the ICON PRO frame and belt and let customers choose the ultra light bag or the heavier bag.  Instead they pigeon holed the ultra guys into the ultra belt that is sub par.

Sweet Bmcox, I picked up some tube sand.  I loaded my day pack load give or take a couple items but pretty close and I'm going to throw a 60# bag on for a couple days to see how that feels.  I'm going to give 120# plus day pack gear a go here next week just to see how it rides.  Even loaded out now it feels lighter than my day pack last year.

So I just did a little 1/2 mile around the neighborhood  with 80#'s in the pack.  Once I got everything adjusted and load lifters positioned to transfer weight to my hips it really only felt like 40#.  I know because I have been toting a weighted pack at 42# for the last couple months just to make life easier.  The ride was perfect.  The weight transfer to my hips was like butter and the way the pack moved with my torso, well it just felt like an extension of myself.  The frame felt solid as a rock and it was easy to load the area between the pack and frame.  I am going to take it to the range with me tomorrow to put it through the paces and get all the time with it on my back I can.

  (klickboom)  you have self control.

Wheew!  I got mine today in the mail after that long long wait. My first thought was they sent me a kids box,  way too small and light for the pack I ordered.  Yep , it was all in there.  As I unfolded it, it just kept coming.  The pack grew to a full sized 3500 as I unbuckled it .

First thoughts were the same as others , picts don't do the color justice,  color was just fine with me. The craftsmanship seems perfect.  Zippers are solid and tightly sewn.  Hip pads seem solid enough to pad where needed without digging in .  The dual pull strap system for the hip belt was the best I have seen ,  you can tighten this bad boy down with a simple pull.  The load lifters seem high enough ,  we'll find out soon on the trails.

I don’t give a damn for a man that can only spell a word one way. "Mark Twain"

You guys are killing me!

I had been waiting with a reasonable amount of patience.  But with all these pictures and posts I feel I'm living Christmas Eve over and over like Groundhogs Day :o  It sure looks like it's going to be that pack I've been hoping for since my first backpack hunt at age 15.  I'm getting more and more excited to see it with every post!
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."
