Smoked some meat instead of BBQ.
« on: April 06, 2014, 08:54:02 AM »
Sorry, not pic. Didnt plan on making a thread on it.

We were having RePete and his new woman over yesterday for dinner and since the weather was crappy all day yesterday here on the wet side, I decided to smoke some meats instead of BBQ.
Smokes up two pork loins, chicken legs and corned beef brisket, and they turned out great

Smoked the pork and brisket for 5 hours and then wrapped in foil and put them in the oven for  4 hours at 250. When I took them out of the oven they were so tender, it would melt in your mouth. I use a big chief smoker so there is not much heat, but lots of smoke flavor added to the meats  :EAT:

I got the idea from Rasbo, ho smoked one at the first Hunt WA BBQ and I have been waiting to smoke one ever since but finally got around to it.
If you get a chance to smoke a corned beef brisket. do you wont be disappointed

I enjoy turning corned beef into pastrami
Hey! I'm not a complete idiot I have parts missing. Though sometimes I wonder.

I'm going to try that soon for sure, sounds delicious. What kind of chips did you use? Also I noticed one of my chiefs runs hotter than the other, do you have an idea of temp?

I had some alder, so that's what I used.

My chief averages about 165 degrees. Cant5 get it much hotter unless its summer time and I wrap it with a blanket, so its more of a cold smoke.
