Not me! And I was sure this was the year!Cjensen, where do you get our landowner tags from?
My brother kept his lucky streak alive and got a muzzleloader bull hunt on the Valles Caldera. Its an awesome place and we cant believe we get to hunt it again.

And I was sure this was the year!Cjensen, where do you get our landowner tags from?New Mexico Game and Fish provides a list of ranches that get issued tags along with their phone number and address. In each unit there are several ranchers that get a certain number of tags every year, and another list of smaller land owners that get put in a pool and they draw a tag every few years. Last year in my unit I bought one from a rancher for $2,000 and was able to get two other guys from the "small landowner list" to sell me a tag for $2,500 each (for my dad, my brother, and myself). As soon as the list of land owners come out you have to make calls like a crazy person because in the good units the tags are mostly gone the first day. You cant low ball either because there are guys with money offering the moon. I sent the rancher who gets tags every year a Christmas present hoping he'll sell me his tag(s) again this year. Sucks cause you have to buy the tag from the rancher and then still pay the $800+ to the state for the tag.

But he is wanting to look into a land owner tag as well. How did you guys fare with those tags. Did you have opportunities or harvest a Bull?THanksBrian
