Pots, 300 to 400 feet o line for each pot, bait and bait boxes, yellow bouy's and a puller.

You dont need weighted rope if you use clip on weights as you send it down.

If your going to pull by hand good luck! Its hard as hell and you will lose shrimp if you dont keep it moving at a good constant pull.
Lol dannnnggggg, maybe nevermind haha. Well have to see if we can find some pulling gear for less then 500$

It's still worth going if you don't have a puller, but you will want one for next year. Wildman is right though it's not a lot of fun, but can be done.

If you have sturdy pots, you can use an anchor retrieval ball to haul the pots up.  You can make a retrieval system easy enough.  It might be more trouble than worth if shrimping a place like Hood Canal....bumper boats.

Yeah that would not work in most places I've shrimped, I could see a wreck happening and a mess of tangled lines.

I have seen small skiffs pull the line over gunnels of the larger boat. Just gotta time your pot surfacing. Lol Was a hoot to watch and worked great!

Headed to Brinnon Friday. I'm in the same boat. I have an 1800' coil of leaded line I need to cut down for my pots. Fire up the puller, and mount it on the boat. Get last years bait out to thaw and make more. Get fresh gas. Maybe tonight! Nothing like waiting for the last minute. :dunno:
I cant this saturday but hopefully the following. See you up there I hope!

I'll be there!  Just trying to get my thinker working. Were you up there with Richard Z last year or the year before?
I was up there with Chad and met you. I also spoke with you at the hoof rot meeting.

Yep, I remember talking to you at the hoof rot meeting. But wasnt sure who you were with at Brinnon even though I knew I talked to you up there. Its all clicking now!

Worst conditions ive seen at Brinnon.  Waves were terrible. Decided I wasn't even  going to launch. Saw 1 boat swamped at the launch. Several  others just left. Finally about 10 we went to Whitney point. The launch was very calm. Went out and dropped pots in fairly rough conditions. Waited till 11:15 and pulled pots in scary conditions. But ended up with 5 limits in those 4 pots. Then went to Dosie and got limits of steamers and oysters for us and the grandkids. Made a not so good day a fantastic day. Just felt bad the little ones couldn't get out for shrimp.
