Plan 'B' Worked out Great!
« on: June 09, 2014, 09:17:26 AM »
I was excited to go fish for Kokanee Saturday. I began rigging poles, buying lures and prepping for this trip long in advance. I was excited! Saturday morning came. I got the family up at 0430, on the road by 0500, at the lake by 0615, boat ready to launch by 0620. We were ready!! I was getting the kids in the boat when my lovely wife said....." Where are the downriggers?"...... :bash:.......I replied, "at home".  :bash:. Plan 'B' turned out to be a great day, a 4 person limit of bright silver rainbows came to the boat. Fishing was good, with fish to 20". The meat was a nice color of pinkish red, which would rival the color and flavor of any saltwater salmon. We let the fillets soak in our home made marinade all day Sunday, and cooked them on the grill with some Sirloins for a mouthwatering dinner.

It has been wonderful. Boat has been working well. This was our first trip away from Moses Lake with the new boat. From fishing to cruising, we are enjoying it very much!

1/4 cup pineapple juice
2 table spoon soy sauce
2 table spoon brown sugar
1 tea spoon Kentucky bourbon
1/4 tea spoon pepper
1/8 tea spoon garlic powder
1/2 cup veg oil

Wife says she usually doubles this and has not seen a difference in flavor if she leaves out the veg oil. We use Wild Turkey Bourbon. Let the salmon/trout fillets soak over night and all day, or get them soaking in the morning for dinner time. Gives the meat a remarkable flavor!! Hope you all like it!!
