Aberdeen and Vail mention free access areas. Is that something that ANYONE can partake?

However, I should say, I'm not sure how a person would access the free area in Vail. That's way up high and bordering National Forest, but I don't know if there are any open roads that get you up into that area. It could be an area that's only accessibly by horses. Or of course to Vail permit holders, who could easily drive to it on Weyerhaeuser roads.

I wouldn't get too excited about the free Aberdeen area, but at least it is free access I guess.

The free access land they're putting up reminds me of this scene from "The Jerk".

Anyone know if more detailed maps will be available? I hunt the St. Helens tree farm and these suck.
Some animals WERE harmed in the making of this Hunter. They were also dragged through the dirt, butchered and tasted delicious fried with butter and bacon.

It sure looks like all the free areas at the St Helens are  places where there is interspersed DNR and Weyco.  They probably figured the "frog might jump out of the pot" if they charged for access to public land, too, this year.  Maybe next year.

In case you didn't catch it the free areas near Aberdeen are non-motorized only.
