The last one I bought was a green and white bag at Coastal Farm and it said selinemum right on the front with a pic of a goats head. About 10$. The deer here have been hitting it about every day this spring.

So this stuff is predominately salt with selenium added, right? Or is it primarily selenium?

What I use is American Stockmen trace mineral salt with selenium. Without selenium works too.
They are hammering it right now.

I use Champion's choice sheep salt with selenium. I have had areas 30 feet by 30 feet turned to bare dirt and dug out at least 6 inches from the elk tearing it up. I like to bury some of mine and also like to find a rotten stump or log. It will make them work for it and keep them from just chowing it down too quickly. I had one stump that was about 2 feet tall that I put salt in and within about 6 weeks it was gone and there was actually a hole in the ground.  :yike:

I'd guess it's pointless to add more to it at this time. Maybe not, but tops all you'd need is 2 bags a year. I've only used 1 per year and they were still hitting the 1st lick from last June when I refeshed it this past April.

Selenium, or trace mineral.
Selenium is a key mineral to ungulate reproduction.  Deer/elk crave it.  Your efforts are helping the deer/elk populations.  Especially if you're a poor shot. :chuckle:
