When have the sockeye historically shown up in Brewster. Is it around the same time as kings!?

Don't have the link. It should be on WDFW's website under news. I got an email. And it was 2 Kings. Total of 8 fish I believe.

That's how it always read, and is correct. 8 total. No more than 4 sockeye, and 2 hatchery adult kings, thus leaving the final two fish as Chinook jacks. 8 total.

The emergancy rule changed it from 4 sockeye max to 6 sockeye max.  Still has the overall limit of 8, just no more than two clipped kings or 6 sockeye.

You are 100% correct.  The 6 sockeye max rule went into effect this morning.  Glad to see that and fingers are crossed it gets to 8 or 10.

What do you guys think,
Thinking of doing a one day trip to Wanapum Dam or Wells Dam this weekend, but I would be limited to bank fishing. Do I have any chance of catching sockeye there at all from the bank?

Wish I could help but I've never fished them from shore

On Wells Dam. The upriver side the rocks are always bloody. Just bring a wagon to carry 2 ice chests 1 for WATER the other 1 for fish you catch. Tackle box  bait etc. The wagon makes it easier to carry all your gear from the parking spots.

Fished wanapum yesterday after work.  Fishing was a little slow but managed 4 fish.  Running four rods from the boat.  Wanapum is a tough fishery. Head to Brewster.   Lots of good advice on here so far.

How's that? The upriver side is closed to salmon fishing right now all the way to the Brewster bridge like usual. :dunno:

When it opens you need a wagon. Or try the Powerhouse Park in Chelan falls now.

Has anyone had luck for sockeye fishing from the bank around wanapum? Do they hit spinners, flys, shrimp and a bobber? Was there today in a friends boat and man they were jumping everywhere next to the bank. Any ideas?
