Sekiu bottom fishing
« on: June 25, 2014, 04:40:28 PM »
Hello there fellow fisherman, I am heading up to Sekiu for a week and after hitting the salmon i would like to do a better job chasing the sea bass. last year we did a little bit of bottom fishing but as far as what we did was drifted in and out of the kelp beds jigging the lead heads. we did alright. i would like to do better. if you friends are willing to share the correct lures and is the kelp worth my time, or should i try my best to get on to some structure? help would be appreciated.
Lets go, we got fish to catch on the boondocks!!!

Fish the underwater structure.  You also need to find the fish, so the better the sounder the better the results.  They get spread out with all the pressure, so if you don't see any on the screen or they aren't biting, move to a new spot.  I you catch a few, mark on your GPS and keep drifting over same spot.

We limit easily on lings and sea bass using plain old unpainted lead diamond jigs (buzz bombs).  I don't think bass are particular with the lure.

Run to area 4. Area 5 (Sekiu) isn't worth your time.
