I knew both the tag holders last year and neither of them filled. One of them is a member here maybe he will chime in, the other never even hunted it.

It's a tough tag unless you have access to private property. There are some good bulls though. Good luck I hope you whack one look forward to see pics.

Hey thx Sirmissalot.  What about all the area up above Wynoochee that borders the park?  Isn't that all open?  That seems to be where I'll have the best shot at a Pig...  I've talked to a couple about the Matlock area where there seems to be quite a few hanging around down there and I'm hoping to do some door knocking this summer and hoping to get a few folks to give me permission but I'd rather go up high and hunt for a big boy and only hunt down low towards the end of the season.  Thx again buddy!

A few years back I seen about fifty head in there.  They were left off the lake Lena road.  The one that connects to cushman road.

If you mean the hamma hamma herd that is well into the Olympic unit.

There are some good bulls up high that's for sure.

Check out three peaks and discovery area. There are a couple wilderness areas that are worth looking at too. Really I hope you smoke a big one.

What are your hunt dates? I leave around the 18th for a Wyoming hunt but other than that I can help pack, I'm not too far away.

You guys are awesome and I hope I can make you regret making that offer!!!! lol  Yea I've been told about the Discovery area so I definitley will be checking that area out!  Sept 3rd-15th  I have the 5th through the 7th off and then took the the last 6 days of the season off 10th-15th as that was the best I could do as I leave the 20th for Idaho for a week.

I'll be sitting the first week out leaving Friday the first week of archery to kill a bull.  But any time before that I'd be at the trail head within an hour let me know!  Or if I smoke one first few days out I'd be back early.

not as easy to fill as one might think.  If your after quality go high above the nooch, but that is steep country and those elk don't show themself to often.  Quite a few poeple are up there that time of the year hiking and bear hunting.  Do some scouting and hang some cameras early.

I could hook you up in Matlock if your after a rag horn.  Don't get me wrong there is a nice one or two each year but the natives usually kill them.  Sometimes the natives don't kill them till late sept. so there is a chance at a decent bull.

I won't be around myself but could give you some spots to check.  Interested send me a pm.
