I mostly use fish scraps. Today it was halibut/lingcod trimmings from this spring and some trout carcass. Salmon scraps in my buddy's pots. Both of my pots were completely cleaned out of bait on about a 2.5 hour soak and I loaded them up pretty good.

Looks good I have been trying my luck in area 13 around fox island and the tribal pots have wiped them out. Not trying to start a fight. I havn't got but one keeper.

Tough go in area 10 today. Our first pull was decent with 2 limits in 4 pots but it turned out 4 of those were soft shelled. We sent our pots back and could only get females and sub leagals after the that. Ended the day with 6 dungies and 1 rock. My spot got fished out quick! Gonna have to look elsewhere next time.

been doing 1 hour test pot soaks and getting crab. I would say though when I arrived into my usual northern hood canal spot at 7 am there were pots already soaking.

Can't they soak overnight?  Or do you have to pull them each night season is open?

Between legal days you can soak your pots over night. You have to pull them by sunset on the last legal day for fishing. They cannot soak on the off days when retention is closed. You do have to pull your pots between between dawn/dusk. No night pulling.

Thanks, thats what I was thinking.  One other question...can more than one license holder "use" the same pot?  E.g., if you pull a pot with 8 keepers and the daily limit is 5...can they be split amongst the license holders?

Yes, so long as the person who's name is on the buoy is present. I can take 2 other licensed fishers out with my 2 pots and catch limits for all. You can have 2 pots/licensed fisher.

Oh man. Stuffed. First crab feed went down very nice. One buddy went home with his 5. We worked on the ten and still had about a pound of meat left over.
