Batch of Pickled Walleye
« on: July 08, 2014, 09:12:07 AM »
The Walleye fishing has been pretty good this year, and Pickled Walleye is one of my favorite ways to prepare them for snacks on the boat or camping.  Here is a batch I just did up waiting for the dreadful 5 days so I can dig into them.  I also put in some garlic cloves, onion, and a dash of white pepper.

I've never heard of anyone doing that to walleye. Care to share your recipe?!

Try not to eat it so fast, which is hard to do for me. :chuckle:  It lasts up to 5-6 months in the refrigerator.  I usually do up a batch big enough to last about that long, then I just make some more.  It's really easy to make.

I've never heard of anyone doing that to walleye. Care to share your recipe?!

I'll get ya the recipe maverick.

Went out walleye fishing Sunday for the first time this year and caught a 3 pounder. Time to start filling the freezer! And apparently start making pickled walleye!

Although this looks and is probably amazing, I could never pickle any walleye. :chuckle:
