"We" were considering going also but when we saw the minus tide we simply ain't going until the 19th.  That being said ... I wouldn't waste the gas to go out there without checking to see if the bar is even open first.  On the internet sites below you can find a cam and any restrictions for the bar.  Mouse over .. do not click on .. Grays Harbor and you can see the cam and any restrictions on the bar.  Just below the picture in the middle is a link to a "complete list" of bar restrictions.  We went out a couple weeks ago and all three of us got our limits.  We did our best mooching fresh herring behind a 4 oz banana weight and simply drifting.  (Had to resort to that since we fouled in a crab pot line and snapped the cable on the down rigger.  I hang my head in shame for not paying attention.  Lesson learned and an expensive one at that.)  We were going to go out a second day but the bar was closed (to boats under 30 feet) and we were told it would probably be closed all day ... a minus tide.

Slack tide is about 7:30 am.

Another slack about 2 pm.

That's when I'd be planning to cross tomorrow.

With only a 4 foot swell it will be fine to cross anytime we crossed at 6 this morning with about a 100 others. I the swell gets over 6 feet then take notice it was foggy today.
