I am finding myself in need of new shades. I have always bought cheap $20-25 sets but beings I now drive for a living I am wondering if there is a benefit to spending the money for the higher end ones. (Native, Oakley, WileyX, etc.) Has anyone really noticed a difference or is it just the name your paying for?

I run Oakley Full Jackets with polarized lenses. Oakleys fit my face really well and they are great quality (in my opinion)

I take much better care of my oakleys than when i bought cheapos...

Absolutely a difference. Spend the money on a nice pair of Oakleys that fit well and take VERY good care of them. The better UV protection and clarity are well worth it. I see a huge difference in clarity with them.

I believe not all sunglasses are equal. Check out Dragon Alliance Shield Polarized. Great quality lower price than some other bigger names

 Bought some Wiley's a few years back. Liked the foam insert for riding, other than that, Never Again!!

Maui Jims for me, but mine are prescription and polarized. Was glad that I splurged on them.

I have had very good luck with Costa Del Mar's for fishing and driving. If you drive for a living be absolutely sure you get POLARIZED!!! There is no contest compared to non polarized especially with the rain we get on sunny days. Misty rain, downpour, tire spray, wet pavement glare when the sun comes back out, polarized will make a very noticeable difference

I have a pair of Wiley X and love them. They're perscription sunglasses and I can see better than my standard glasses. When I can afford a second pair, Im going to get ones with clear lenses and use for outdoor activities and as safety glasses.

I have a couple pairs of  Maui Jim's Honolulu Bay (titanium) one with grey polarized lenses one with amber polarized lenses. They weigh next to nothing. And one pair of Wassup greys polarized.
They have awesome warrantee sand great customer service.
I like amber polarized much better for fishing.
The blue Costa Del Mars are pretty good for fishing as well.
If you want an ok pair of inexpensive glasses, try Sun Cloud polarized amber lenses. I have a pair I keep in my glove box for emergencies. You can get them for about $50 - $60.

I'm in the same boat and have had the same question.  The whole family has nice glasses except me with my cheapos.  Maybe it is time to break down and get something better.  Let me know what you end up with.

I bought a pair of Smith Optics Guides choice and really like them polarized and mirrored work great on the water.

Can't stand cheap glasses. I have a stigmatism so I'm pretty picky about my vision.I have a handful, but my favorites are a set of polarized Arnettes.
Once you get quality shades you will wonder how you ever got along without them. If your military, LE or first responder Oakley gives you about half off.
