Where to find a bear?

I'm new to bear hunting and looking for a little bit of advice. I was planning on hunting on the highway 2 corridor being that I live in Gold Bar. If I missed anything let me know. Thanks.

So my questions are.
1. Is there a certain elevation I should be looking?

2. With the high heat should I be looking at North facing slopes?

3. Creek bottoms or clear cuts?

Definitely cool areas and don't skip low elevations. The wild black berries have run their coarse in the valley so watch those north facing slopes

There seems to be an over abundance of blackberries this year ..I do not have much luck in the open when it comes to bears ..Seems I do better in the nasty stuff ..Always finding an advantage point where I can look down into it ..if that helps

  Emphasis on 'be patient'.

A few years back - found a spot to glass- wife and I sat there a half hour glassing..nothing..45 minutes...then spot an ear....a few minutes later a head..15 minutes a second bear. After an hour the 'empty' clear cut turned out to have 4 bears lolling around in it..

If that wasn't bad enough, had to choose one. Wife picks one (I thought I knew which one so I am watching it) then I tell her to hold on -I see a huge blond 5th bear..then  BOOM.. I look over and she is facing the other way...holding a smokin gun?
Turns out another had popped up 50 feet from her walking up the trail she was standing in.

Ya just never know..have patience.

logging roads with huckleberrys, blueberry,blackberry is key, then look for scat old or fresh....
If you see animal paths doesnt mean its a bear, these fata$$'s love pooping on the logging roads...
Once you find a fresh scat pile, locate a tree for a tree stand or hill side... Glass glass glass, and start with a distressed fawn call...

Using a call in a clearing could work too... if you cant find bear, come over one night for dinner. Filled both bears tags and were 4days into the season.

Well I went out yesterday afternoon for about 4 hours and didn't see much for sign. All the poo I saw looked like it was from the last century.  The area I was in won't have ripe berries for 2-3 weeks. The search continues.
