Anyone fishing up north for kings with any luck?  Where are all the fish? They should be in thick by now, but fishing is spotty at best.  this should be prime time fishing right now!

A neighbor picked up a 20 pounder between Decatur and James on Saturday, but I haven't heard of much of anything else going on.  I wish I had time to get to the coast or Seiku.

Wondering if anybody had any newer reports for the San Juan area?  Headed there tomorrow afternoon for five days for cra and shrimp.  Hopefully a king or two if we can find them.

There is hardly anyone fishing off WA Park or between James, Blakely, and Decatur Islands.  This "massive" run of fish seems to have flopped.      There were a few more boats than usual off Fauntleroy Point on Saturday morning but haven't seen them since.

Good luck on the shrimp, please send me a PM with any West 7 shrimp info.  I haven't had a chance to get over there yet to try it.  Kicked butt on the late season Iceberg ones though.

I've fished A7 every day since August 5, mostly the west side of San Juan Island.  It's been slow.  There are at least four to five charters (Catchmore, R&R, RT, Bellingham Salmon Charters) fishing the same spot every day, which tells me that spot is probably as good as anywhere.   And that's not very good.

I have been out about 7 times this August.  We lost a decent size one at the boat a few weeks back off Strawberry Island.  "I have tired every spot I know of that holds fish and can't find any.  Everyone I have talked to including the local WDFW guy says this is about a bad a years as he has seen.  Here's hoping the Silvers find there way through the Islands.

I have felt your pain in the Port  Angeles area....been fishing the area with great success for over 30 years and it has been the slowest I have seen in all those years. The last three years have been lights out good and this was forecast to be another solid year. I have been telling people for the last month you would soon start seeing articles about what happened to the Chinook coming through the straights. I have seen a couple in the Peninsula daily news and the times. Something happened to these fish along the way in my opinion be it foreign drift netters or some other thing. Lets hope this is just one of those years....it is kind of strange though because the columbia has a good run....better luck to all next year.....Les

Saturday a friend lost three off Eagle Point, I lost about a 14 pounder at the boat on Sunday in the same location.  There were about 14 Indian net boats, gill netters and purse seiners.

Why is it that the natives can net, and keep, wild coho when we have to release the same fish??  Not trying to stir the pot, but a valid question, I think.

Fished the westside of San Juan last weekend... lost one first thing in the morning after the slow trip out due to all that damn fog!    dont even get me started on Indian nets... its all a bunch of bull *censored*!

We killed the  canadian sockeye yesterday,16 in the boat in 3 hours, going again tommorrow,my buddy has made 5 trips and put 75 on the dock. His brother whipped up on the kings yesterday and today off guemes.FWIW socks are bettern kings!

Fishing wasn't terrible of Guemes this weekend.  Even a few coho were caught.

A friend boated one king and two coho off Eagle Point over the wekend, they had to release two wild coho and had two long line releases near the boat.  They were deep, 125-130'.

My old man went yesterday.They caught 2 kings and lost 2 kings at secret harbor and guemes indian villiage.Green flasher and UV purple haze needlefish
