Any Area 12 salmon reports, lower end around Union
« on: August 07, 2014, 11:45:06 AM »
Looking to hit some kings and Union launch is the closest, most feasable for me.  Are there any kings running that far south yet or am I better off hitting MA 13 by Fox Island.  Really don't want to drive that far though

The Skok gets a ton of fish.  I'm not sure how the salt fishing has been.

I haven't heard, when I used to fish it I had my best fishing late August but I know the skoke has some kings in it now, they should be stacking up out there. I have several friends who fish it hard, I'll see what they know.

The union launch is your best bet anyways, too small for my boat but you'll be just right. The power house launch is now native owned and operated, I've heard its $15 to launch there. If I were you I'd fish bald point which is right across from the union launch, there should be plenty of other boats around.

Its not a redhot fishery but you can have a good time there, with some patience you'll catch some nice fish. The canal is where my saltwater addiction began.

It's about the best place for us all things considered.  Fox Island is far.  Narrows is far and the water is too big for my boat.  MA 10 is closed.  Pickering Passage/Walkers Landing doesn't have any silvers in yet.

Thanks for the help guys

How about launching at Purdy and fishing the bay there by Minter Creek?
Or launching at one of the state parks on KPS  :dunno:

Dude you got more options

i've always thought that launching at union and fishing around the mouth of the skok could be productive.  either jigging/mooching off the drop off or trolling the lower end of the river with something like a flash glo.  always wanted to try it but never seem to get around to it.
you can still get gas in heaven, and a drink in kingdom come,
in the meantime, i'll be cleaning my gun

In front of mouth is hard fishing.  They stack up but won't bite.  Bald point is better and will produce fish it just takes forever.  But fun none the less.
