new guy in skagit county
« on: August 14, 2014, 10:56:39 AM »
Well a little introduction I guess, my name is Paul and I work in the oil field in Louisiana and my schedule is 56 days on 28 days off. So I get to do quite a bit of hunting and fishing when the season hits right. I'm from Indiana and have hunted and fished pretty much everything but elk and bear. I'm living on lake Cavanaugh near mount Vernon but don't mind traveling a little to meet someone for either fishing or hunting. I don't have much to trade but if you would like I've gotten fairly familiar with Cavanaugh catching quite a few kokes. I'm really interested in beagles as well ilk be getting a new pup when I'm home (September 3rd) and training her to run rabbits. Seems like a great site and can't wait to meet some of you.

Awesome ghosthunter will do, I'm only 26 but back home most of the people I hunt with are in there 50's-60's. I know my current property I have to hunt is all owned by the paper company. (right around the lake) but most people access from the main road where I can access from a few different spots on the lake from different peoples houses. I know I've seen deer in the back yard, and have tried to do some morel hunting with no luck and have seen some bear prints but I have 0 idea how to hunt them besides see one and shoot.

Welcome..  :hello:
To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

Welcome Paul!  I'm an oil & gas guy too.  I work offshore for Shell in the Gulf Of Mexico and do a 14/14 schedule.  I live over on Whidbey Island, not too far away.
