Easton axis problems?
« on: August 24, 2014, 11:06:43 AM »
Iv bought 18 Easton axis arrows from sportsmans this summer and out of those 18, 6 have not be able to get a field point in, I'm using 100gr axis field points also from sportsmans, and they work perfect on all the other arrows, anyone else have these problems?

Do they start at all? Id guess either the insert is in to far or the epoxy got inside the insert or the inside of the shaft

:yeah:
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

This is why I tell them not to glue in my inserts on my axis arrows. No matter where I bought them they always did something wrong. Inserts not deep enough, didn't clean inside of shaft before installation, or got too much epoxy on the inside of shaft where the shaft of the points go. The axis shafts come with the epoxy so it is very easy to do it yourself. Just make sure to use the chamfer stone so points sit flush.

I believe demontang is right, probably too much epoxy on the inside of the shaft where the point shaft sits. I would get some very fine sandpaper, roll it into the diameter of the inside of the shaft and sand the inside very small amounts until the points go in easily. It won't take much. I had it happen to me once and this fixed it. Since doing them myself, never an issue.

I always got nervous when people wanted me to do it in store then they would walk out carring the box shaking them with every step :bdid: I never had anyone come back with them not set right but you never know. I had people bring boxes back from other stores that had to much epoxy or the inserts wherent deep enough.

Get the right size drill bit and clean inside of shaft out. Too much epoxy residue I'm sure.
