I had a great time. Dale and Tara are two of the warmest and friendliest people around. Their camp was very nice and the dinner and breakfast was great. I didn't get to stick around longer since Dale threw me, the only archery deer hunter, in his honey hole. I'll definitely be back in the future. Can't wipe the smile off my face. Thanks again!
Wishing I was fishing...or in Wyoming

We are archery elk hunting now, been on plenty of bulls, a 300ish bull yesterday at 70 yards, a bit out of range so the hunter couldn't throw an arrow. Nick called in 4x4 and 5x5 bulls this morning that the hunters (two brothers) missed, they both drew and one brother had the shot opportunities. This is their first archery hunt and I think they are totally hooked on archery elk.  :chuckle:

Good action for the hunters but I hope they put an arrow into the next bull. We spotted a big herd bull that we are going after tonight and again in the morning if we don't get a shot tonight, my fingers are crossed, I would love to post some photos of him and a happy hunter.

Update: The big bull was coming, oh yeah, but the brothers got excited by satellite bulls and loosed some arrows, waiting for time to pass, so the tracking can begin. FINGERS CROSSED AGAIN!  :IBCOOL:

Yesterday Guide Daniel started another bear hunt. The hunter had a new 3 pound trigger and scope put on her gun before coming on the hunt and it needed sighted in. Guide Daniel sighted the gun for her and she shot a couple times. In the evening Daniel and the hunter set up watching some good berry brush and trees, as hoped a nice 200ish pound black bear was spotted, the bear was moving around feeding in the brush and they saw him several times, suddenly the bear walked out of the brush and stood up at the closest tree, it was only 15 feet from the hunter to the bear, Daniel said the bear had a white muzzle, the bear probably would have filled the scope, the hunter raised the rifle and she forgot about the new trigger, BOOM the gun went off before she was ready, the bear ran but stopped in a small clearing and looked back, she missed him again at 150 yards, Daniel saw the bullet strike the ground to the side of the bear and then they watched the bear trot off. We have really been into the bear this year so I am very hopeful she will get another shot opportunity.

Guide Nick is busy packing out elk today for the brothers and their dad is hunting with guide Ray, they were on deer yesterday but didn't see any elk. We are really onto the elk so I think it's just a matter of time and dad will get an opportunity at a bull.

We are elk hunting in Idaho. This morning we were able to track the second bull all the way into the canyon bottom and then he went up over the next ridge and wasn't bleeding, the hunter thought he hit him high, we think it must have been in that dead spot, having gone that far without bleeding I think that bull will be fine, he was still going and never layed down.

The first bull a freaky 4x5 is at the meat locker.  :)
