Pretty lousy statement to the non hunting public
« on: September 08, 2014, 10:08:20 AM »
This bow camp on top of Manastash sure sets a great example of what great stewards of the environment hunters are.  The guys pulled out Sunday and left this mess. Maybe they figure Waste Management will come clean up after them like back home in the city.  Sorry a couple pics came out sideways
And I think God must be a cowboy at heart
He made wide open spaces from the start
He made grass and trees and mountains and a horse to be a friend
And trails to lead ol' cowboys home again

If it was just paper products I would be a little more tolerant but there were 7 glass beer bottles and some aluminum cans as well as the plastic buckets. It would have taken up mere inches of room to pack out and the Indian John rest area had at least a dozen garbage cans so they don't even have to take it home.

Probably threw a lot more beer bottles out the window as they drove around-to bad an IQ test can't be a prerequisite to getting a hunting licence -these types would flunk.

There was a camp that littered pretty bad back when I went on the high hunt.   The ranger wasn't too happy with their litter so he packed it out and mailed it to them collect along with a ticket.

They picked up after themselves the next year.

Don't forget, it's not just hunters that do crap like this.  There are bad apples in all user groups.

There are jerks in every aspect of society but messing up God's country is horrible.
Look at a movie theater at the end of the movie. No one takes their trash out and we wonder why it costs so much to see a movie.
How about a baseball or football game. The stadium is a dump site.
No accountability in this country any more. More LEO is needed.

That statement makes me cringe. We have got to quit thinking that more government, law enforcement, lawyers, etc. is going to solve problems that are due to lack of personal responsibility and accountability. We can never "arrest" our way out of this type of behavior. It has to be part of our culture.

This is a great example of "be careful what you wish for".

:yeah:  amen to that. Found a very nice campsite on labor day but it did need some cleaning up. I dont mind burning the thrash after all thats what I do with mine but I still took out a dozen bottles and cans. Good sites are well worth taking care of.
