OK here it is.
A buddy & I met for the evening hunt on the 13th, we are set-up about 150-200yds apart. It was pretty quiet until around 6p.m. a whitetail doe was heading my way from my buddy's direction. I grabbed my bow (Bear Element @60lbs) & was getting ready to take her when just before she got into my shooting lane I saw movement (twin spotted fawns), so I decided not to shoot. They headed into the woods, about 10-15 minutes later they came hauling butt back to where they came from. I figured that they got wind of a coyote or a bear because last weekend I missed an opportunity at a chocolate bear that I couldn't stop or call back with distress calls. So after the deer left my area I stood up & grabbed my bow again waitng to see what was going to show up, then I started hearing some branches breaking behind me then there it was a dark black bear. I readied myself & waited for it to come out of the brush in front of me for a clear shot. It came out right below my stand & then walked straight away from me then turned broadside offering me the perfect shot right behind the shoulder, it only went 20 yds then expired. Upon field dressing my shot had passed through both lungs & the top of the heart. She was about 150lbs not very big but my first.
