sounds like your going to need a new breech plug
might try an easy out to get it out of there . or may be some heat but i would try the easy out first . but its sure sound like you have buggered it up pretty well al ready so give the easy out a try . anothe member to ask would be sabot loader hes pretty savvy on the knights

Took one out after doing the same thing and since the need to buy a new breech plug existed, an easy out was welded to a rod that fit into the breech area. Shot some penetrating oil down the barrel, applied heat around the breech plug area with a small propane torch and twisted like hell with the vice grips! Everything was clamped in a vice between 1x4 pine boards. Good luck with whatever you choose to do.

Good to hear you were successful after three easy outs, could have been worse with four, or more! That being said I would suggest you invest in a tube of this stuff
http://www.midwayusa.com/product/610046/cva-breech-plus-anti-seize-grease-stick
I have used this since and have not had one seize yet, though I clean more often and treat since the last lesson of having to extract a seized plug. I think we know what to expect if we neglect, so take the extra step and invest in a tube of this product.

Can you update your rifle to the hex head breach plug?
Way easier to turn out with a socket than a screwdriver!

Good call USMC74, I was going to add that as well. I went to the Knight site, searched the model and found the recommended breech plug and tool for removal. Back in action in a short time.

I have been using silver anti seize on the breech plug for my knight bighorn for the last three years and it works great. I also picked one of those red plastic fake breech plugs from T/C for cleaning the threads.

I have been using teflon tape on muzzleloader threads since 1984, I have never had any kind of a problem with threads sticking. There are 3 types, white is the thinnest, I use this on my CVA accura V2. Pink is next I don't use it myself, this is the type T/C sells. Yellow this is the thickest teflon tape, I use it on my T/C Pro Hunter. Clean your breech plug, lightly oil it including the threads, wipe off any excess. Look at the front of the breech Plug, roll the teflon on the threads clockwise with 2 full wraps, I put 2 wraps on the front of the plug, then overlap by 1/2 each turn after, it amounts to 2 full wraps. Take your fingers and work the teflon into the threads of the breech plug. Make sure your threads for the Breech Plug in your gun is clean, lightly oil them and wipe off the excess. Install your Breech Plug in the gun.
Now after shooting at the range, when you remove the breech plug the threads in the gun will look almost like they did when you put the breech plug in. When you remove the teflon from the Breech Plug those threads will look clean. Your clean up will be fast without having to fight Grease and Never size. You don't need any lubricant on top of the teflon tape, The teflon tape is the lubricant.
Also If you ever have to push out a load thru the breech, it will be easy. Remove the breech plug dump out the powder and push out the bullet. You will get no powder in the threads of your gun, there is no grease, etc. for it to stick to. Remove the tape from the BP and reinstall teflon on your BP. You are ready to reload in the morning.
If you have another gun besides the CVA Accura V2 or the Pro Hunter you may have to play with the type of tape on your plug, The breech plug should not screw in too easy, also it should not be too hard. It will screw in firm all the way. Normally one of the above tapes will fit any brand of gun with the teflon selected to wrap the BP with 2 wraps around it.

Good info here! When I place the breechplug in my Bighorn, I tighten all the way, then back it off 1/4 turn. Knights do tend to "hold on" to their breechplugs pretty firmly, in my limited experience. I used to use the Traditions anti-seize stick, but I am switching over to the white Teflon tape. I guess like with all things muzzleloader, clean, clean, clean is the key to keeping things functional (and removable!). Cheers and good luck.

Don't be afraid of using teflon tape, I have never shot a knight so I can't advise you with which color to choose, white teflon is readily available in lowes, etc. I think they have pink also, but white normally will be sufficient. Teflon is normally cheap, you can probably pick up pink also, yellow is harder to get. Put the white on your gun and see how it fits there is a chance it will be ok. If it is too loose threading in the BP, try the pink tape, T/C sells the Pink but really commands a + price for it. Actually any hardware store should have it. One of those 2 should work in your gun I would think. If not go to the yellow, you don't want any more than 2 wraps of teflon on the BP. I believe you will start obstructing the threads, that is why I would not continue wrapping Teflon tape beyond 2 wraps to achieve a firm turn into the barrel BP threads.
When you put the Breech Plug into your barrel thread it in all the way, shoot as many times as you deem necessary to test it, then see if it screws out easy. I think you will be surprised. When you unscrew your breech plug 1/4 turn you change the factory head space, I do not know how important that is with a knight, but personally I wouldn't do it. Not trying to tell you what to do, Just my opinion. In any event once you start using teflon tape you won't have to worry about it anymore.
Post back and let us know how it goes. Cheers

very tricky with the tape. I must have 4 or 5 rolls at home. Never occurred to me to use it there on the bp. Good call, Thanks
