rut gonna stay stong for muzzey??
« on: September 29, 2014, 08:23:30 PM »
hunting the mashell unit, as i almost always do for elk. the one difference this year........ first time with a muzzel loader. i have grown frusterated with my bow hunts for elk these past few years as the rut has seeemed to come later and later. so thought id try something new. they still seem to be in full swing right now( sept. 29th)..... any thoughts or guesses on if they will still be significantly rutty the first week of october.....and if so, have any of you experienced muzzy hunters noticed techniques for the early rut that may not work for the late rut. what differences should i expect? any help is much appreciated. HUNT HARD AND GO HAWKS!!!!!

Not sure between east and west side elk but we drew nile rifle tags awhile ago and we scouted during ML season and bulls were screaming. I think youll be good.
