To be truthful it makes me sick the way this state is being run ...as a matter of fact the whole country ...I think we may see an all out war with the state and the government before its all over ...They no longer manage wildlife , they manage money . So that being said ...I really do not care about anything anymore . Long as I have a job and a house and can feed my family I am happy  :dunno:

Over half of WDFW's employees are in the Olympia HQ.  Why are 100% of the cuts directed to the field?  Hint: you the consumers aren't going to see/feel any effects if the cuts are to IT support staff, executive assistants, and paper pushers in the Natural Resources Building.  No, cut the programs that affect the public: cut tax payments to counties, hatcheries and fisheries, and game wardens, so they'll see how much we're being cut and support funding increases.  Cuts to HPAs are just BS, they instituted a fee structure to replace the general fund monies in order to streamline processing.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

 Spot on right there!

They are cutting hatcheries that feed mainly commercial fisheries. Commercials pay almost nothing. No more welfare.

Here is how government works.

Option A - Give them more and more money every year
Option B - Give them the same or less and they will absolutely make the first cuts where it hurts the taxpayer most so they will revert to Option A

Think about it, teachers, firemen and police are the first threats on the chopping block.  When have you ever heard that the first round was going to be administrative duties or middle management they combine or do without?

if you look at it that way, how many hatcheries feed exclusively recreational fisheries?  i don't agree with giving the commercials a free lunch but some of those would eliminate a ton of sport fishing.
you can still get gas in heaven, and a drink in kingdom come,
in the meantime, i'll be cleaning my gun
