school me up on the longbow

well today I pulled the trigger on a martin ml 10 70 @28" I have never dropped the string on a long bow but used to fancy myself pretty handy on a recurve. please longbow guys school me up. bow, string and stringer is all I have so far. thinking carbons and a slip on quiver.

ok fellas tell me what I nee to know.

Sorry I don't know anything about longbows. They are intriguing to me, the simplicity. Good luck and I'm sure a fellow long bower will get on here with advice. Must not be many of you guys. I did see a link some where for a longbow club / site. Might be better. Congrats and enjoy. Mike

the funny thing about me getting a longbow, I was wanting to trade my mathews for one, but instead I found one on craigs list for a c-note and it has not even a  scratch on it. :IBCOOL:

I think Bone is your guy on the longbow action...I am going to get one just to have it.  CL pretty cheap, like he said

Pacific Yew Longbows is a site sponsor, and the St. Charles name is prominent in WA archery history.  I suggest giving them a call, I doubt that your having a bow already will affect the help you receive.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.
