Think this blacktail is starting to RUT !
« on: October 12, 2014, 08:22:09 AM »
Pretty proud of my son and niece yesterday ..they managed to out smart the father and uncle  :dunno: :chuckle: :chuckle: This is Jades 5 th buck now and her biggest .. They were sitting on a landing watching a clear cut when all the sudden this big boy stood up out of his bed after a pretty serious rain storm ..After Ted got her calmed down she finally put the smackdown on him with a .243 ..The deer made about 4 jumps ...and WENT OFF A CLIFF  :o When I finally got back to them and walked down to see where it was I about sheeeet myself .. It was very bad but we managed to get it quartered and up to the road ...Can not move this morning  :dunno:

This deer is well over 200 pounds ...

Hawgzilla for sure.  Congrats to her for having the patience to knock him down and for you guys to get that thing out.  Goodbuck, and his neck is pretty darn puffy.

He does look a little swollen.

I saw 2 3pts, a spike, and a doe all together yesterday morning.  None of the bucks were swollen but I thought it a little odd that they were all together.

So the stories go on  :dunno: :chuckle:  So my niece gets her deer while her brother is off at some football camp ..She sends him the picture and we is home in hours  :chuckle: His father has no choice but to take him ..He can not stand the thought of his sister killing deer and he is not ..anyway about 10am I get a phone call ...The nephew is speaking so fast I can not understand anything he is telling ...finally I got the word cougar  :yike: He was headed up to where we were hunting yesterday and came around the corner of the road when a huge cat jumped out on the road and was running in front of the truck ..he locks it up and jumps out and crabs his gun but could find his bullets  :bash: :bash: :bdid: Obviously he is not a road hunter  :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:
