2015 Hoyt's were announced today!
« on: October 14, 2014, 03:40:12 PM »
Well, what's everyone think?

I'm wondering if it will be possible to retrofit the new "ZT Turbo" cams and the new "Zero Torque Cable Guard System" onto a 2014 Carbon Spyder Turbo?

Also, they claim that the new turbo models will do 350fps ATA. What's the likelihood of the bow doing anywhere near that with say a 450 grain arrow at 29" draw length and the bow set at 80lbs? I'm thinking their test parameters were quite a bit different than that. Haha. Still some pretty cool, new technology. The Nitrum series is pretty cool for those who want an aluminum bow.

Here's a link to Hoyt's Facebook page to view the new technology. You don't need a Facebook account to view it. https://m.facebook.com/HoytBowhunting?v=timeline&filter=1&refid=17

They were probably tested with a 350 grain arrow at 70#

ATA is a better test standard than IBO I believe.  IBO has no draw lenght standard they can shoot 32 inch draw for there testing.

I really like the specs and look of the nitrum 34. And depending on how it shoots I could easily be upgrading. Hoyt addressed my major concern with the past several years bows with the zero torque cable guard and interested to see how it affects cam lean. Coupled with what (should be) a very stiff riser design and significant performance boost over my current setup, so far I like what I see.

He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

I really think the new riser design is going to be a winner.  Same grip which I was hoping would change a little, but all in all some great things out of Hoyt this year!  I know more than one Hoyt addict that is headed to the bank for a second mortgage this year. ;)

Wish they could have figured out a way to drop 8-10 ounces off the Edge Elite!  Guess I need to wait at least another year.

I bought a Diamond Carbon Fiber bow $649 at Cabela's. I'm a first year bow hunter, so I went cheaper to see if I liked it. I really enjoyed bow hunting. Shot my biggest buck ever a few weeks back. I was thinking of upgrading to a better bow, but I want something light weight and accurate.

Any suggestions?
