Takin the wife to get her first salmon, but where?
« on: October 16, 2014, 07:53:17 PM »
So I've finally convinced the wife to become a fisherwoman. Only problem is I'm new to salmon fishing myself. Where would be a good place to take her this saturday? Live about 20 mins from the nisqually, and 35 from the puyallup or carbon. Would either of these be good locations this weekend? Thanks in advance guys!

Newbie luck is not good usaully. Book a guided trip for you and her so she has success instead of dismal fishing and poor surroundings of snaggers on the rivers you mention.

If you have a boat I would go out of Port Angleles, limited out Saturday (6) between the 3 of us.  Nice Silvers.

If he doesn't have a boat for PA a river up by there is good right now, friend limited both days the past weekend.  Or you could always just bring your wife to the Cowlitz, which would be my choice if you're trying to stay closer.  I know it's kicking out fish right now.
