Sons first deer
« on: October 19, 2014, 12:51:39 AM »
I'm pretty sure my 10 year old son's hunting career is ruined, It will be hard to match this buck. With a Youth any deer tag in his pocket on opening day he couldn't find the first 3 doe's in his scope quick enough.  The second day the doe's wouldn't stand still. Monday he dropped the hammer on this stud buck at about 140 yards up hill. I'm a pretty proud dad but is it wrong that I'm jealous  :dunno:

WoW!!!!! That's one heck of a nice whitey buck for the young mans first deer congratulations. As far as your question, I would replace the word "jealous" with the word "envious" but damn! I'm jealous :chuckle: look at the eye guards on that beast :yike:

That is an awesome buck, especially for a first deer. Congrats to him. It's not gonna be easy to improve on that.

I'm glad you honored him with his own thread.   Way bigger than my first whitetail or my first buck.   Very cool!

I'm a pretty proud dad but is it wrong that I'm jealous  :dunno:

Are you kidding, hell I'm jealous of him too! :)

My very first deer was a little forked horn.  I would have probably passed out if I shot something that nice as my first ever deer.

That is a fine looking buck, not to mention a 10 year old's very first deer.  Very symmetrical, nice width and mass, great stickers, overall a very nice buck and certainly an exceptional "first" buck!  If your son never gets one any bigger but he never gets one any smaller, he'll be wayyyyyy ahead of the curve that's for sure.

Thanks for the replies. My first deer was when I was 16 first season hunting I connected with a 4x5 black tail and I still remember everything that happened that day.  I'm happy at the memories that we created not just after the shot but all weekend long. We were lucky enough to have a good friend lend us the side by side.  More for fun then hunting but it sure came in handy transporting both deer out of some thick stuff. The area I hunt is traditionally a muley so we are extremely lucky to pull this rabbit out of the hat.
