One of the good things you have in this state is the ability to hunt 4 variety of deer, 3 of which are quite unique in behavior and strategy.
(muley, whitetail, blacktail, bench)

I guess it would depend on what a persons definition of quality is. Purely inches of antler? Shot oppurtunity at a legal deer?

I voted east because I have hunted over here more and as a kid my stepdad always brought me over here. But it depends in what you judge quality by. If a high quality hunt is one that you can enjoy and you enjoy not being soaking wet all week long I'd say the east side wins :)
My freezer is full of stories and memories!....said no hunter ever.

I love hunting blacktail but it seem like they are just disappearing in all the areas I used to hunt, plus the weather usually just sucks after the first week making it impossible to stay dry when hunting.

I know some one here have been successful year after year like BH45, he seems to have a great spot with little pressure from few others.

And the peninsula along with some areas in the south sound do ok for blackies.

So for me it's a no brainier to hunt the east side being its so close to where I live, plus the out right quality of the mule deer hunting is way better than the wet side.

Are you talking about quality deer hunting, or the quality of the meat?  Or the trophy potential???

I don't get it. :dunno:

What many call East...I would refer to as central. With that said....East.

East for Quality
East for Quality - (or quantity) of the meat
East for trophy - Though I would not sneeze at a nice 3x3 Black tail.
East for weather - I can hunt all day in 25-30 degrees and hardly break a sweat. Snow is a total game changer, like having your cake and eating it to.
The worst temperature range to hunt in in my opinion is 33-40 degrees and pouring down rain. This accounts for about 80% of my life hunting the wetside, LOL

West for the length of season

Depends on what you value in hunting. Just shooting a legal buck, trophy hunting, nice weather- east. Solitude and quiet with a chance at a very rare trophy blacktail that's for me. But then I have an addiction to those grey ghosts.
