Hunting with snow on the ground, elk in the area and a big bull brought home, what else could you ask for.

I think I had 6 points.  Might have been 7.  (felt like 12).

willapawapiti, I just saw your thread.  Sounds like an outstanding hunt, I love the idea of the tent to cover yourself with the tent while processing your bull!  Brilliant.

A dry tent is all I can think of!  (I learned that Propane does not drive humidity out...  Next time I bring the wood burning stove to the tent!)  Oh...  Mouse traps.  that would have been a good idea too!  the little hairy boogers pooped all over our stuff and shredded our papertowels!

(small prices to pay though!)

Congratulations on a great bull!! After adding up my expenses for my hunting trip and scouting trips over there I think I'd been money ahead doing what you did :chuckle:

Thanks!

Looks and sounds like you had a great time

Nobody is as much of a character as Paul is. From talking to his mules if they've had a bad day, telling stories, cracking jokes... he is funny and a damn good singer.

I remember years ago at morning coffee with my dad(when there was such a thing at the pit stop in naches), I was 4 and my sister was 7. He was there having coffee and put handcuffs on me and my sister and walked us out to the cop car.  He said "this is where you do not want to be ever in a cop car." I will always remember that.

He recited some cowboy poetry that was pretty dang funny too

the funniest thing he said was about his dog Duke.  duke is a rescue border collie mix who came from an abusive situation.  Duke adores Paul and is suspicious of everyone else.  When I would try to pet Duke he would bark and growl at me with suspicion.

Paul said, "I suppose if he ever bites anyone I'll have to shoot him...  Wouldn't want him to get rabies..."

Took me about a minute to get it!
