Wife's first buck BT
« on: October 28, 2014, 01:36:18 AM »
Well, I finally convinced my wife to get a tag as two tags in the house really does help. We got three younguns and we live pretty modest, so for econinical reasons, she did the hunters ed and got a tag. But she really didnt want to shoot a deer. Guns and shooting them aint her bag.

Today I did get her out because she's getting a lil impatient with me, holdinh out for a big three or better. Mama wants a deep freeze full of venison!
So, to make the whole affair tolerable for her, I just turned it into a leisurely country walk with a rifle. We take a nice stroll, pick some blue hucks, catch up on things and just enjoy eachothers company. Getting to dark, we round a bend walking straight towards us is a doe. I reach up and pull Sandy down to a crouch to hold on an wait. The nanny doesnt have a clue. Sure enough, out come two more deer, bith bucks!

"See that one to the left?"
"yeah"
"sure?"
"YES!"

I cringe as all three deer look our way.
"shoot em"
Sandy, to my horror raises up to her feet and takes three or four steps and they all start to run. Oh No!
bang.....i couldnt tell if she hit or not, but we hurry forward and right thete around the curve, there he is!  It was a nice fork buck, totally mature withh ground down teeth and a promient roman nose.  Im really proud of her and weve been married a year come nov eleventh, and shes totally cool with me going elk hunting instead. Shes a keeper.
While she intends to keep buying tags and shooting a deer if she can, she has no plans to go hunting crazy.  But she does look forward to more leisurely country walks, with a rifle.

Great day for a walk  ;)
Hey! I'm not a complete idiot I have parts missing. Though sometimes I wonder.

If you want to make God laugh tell him your plans.

Good deal!  Congrats to the wife.  She should go hunting crazy since she's got a good packer.
