Good wet morning on the rez
« on: October 28, 2014, 07:15:22 PM »
Had a good morning in the rain today, put up alot of birds but only 2 roosters in range managed to kill 1 and lots of hens. Always fun getting into a covey of quail and splitting them up then picking them off.

Do you think the rain helps the birds hold better?

Out of town this week. Just got a new shotgun and itching to get back out there!

I thought it would help but it didn't really. Some of the hens held real tight while alot of the birds jumped just out of range.

Three labs...nice!  It's been tough out there for me so far this year.  A bird here and there, but not many..  And, the less and less "feel free to hunt" areas every year.  Many spots I used to hunt have been plowed and put into corn production.  :(
