The Stillicom pier was slow last night. I got a couple of pounds in 6 hours.
Most folks were leaving with less the that.

I was out at Tacoma Friday night for 2-3 hours and left with 1. Lots of guys had nothing. I've heard that day time has been better than night this year, any truth to it?

I love squid and octopus! Up in Prince William Sound in Alaska we used to catch the bigger ones, 15-20 inches and bigger, real meaty. I clean them, then par boil them. Just long enough that the skin is very easy to rub off. Then I cut the body into inch sized cubes and marinade them.

Olive oil, garlic, chopped onions and celery, tomatoes, Italian seasoning, then a mixture of apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and lemon juice. Then I chop up some oranges and limes and toss them in. Let it soak over night and yummmmm! Do the same with octopus.

I never measure anything, just throw in what ever amount it looks like it needs and finish it off by taste.

I drove to Edmonds sat night.  Big schools swimming through the lights but they were snagging them.  They wouldn't bite.

Went today and nothing too incredible. Caught a few in about an hour and a half.

I wonder if it has anything to do with spawning? Last time, they were in a frenzy like I'd never seen, and a lot of them were full of eggs.

I hope it's at least mediocre tomorrow night. I was hoping to get at least a pound for my New Year's Eve Cioppino.

Good luck. I haven't had anywhere near that good of a night. And none of the ones I have caught had eggs in them.

Alright so here is my short report. I only had an hour to be able to go today before work, I got there at 7:30 and caught one. In that time only one other guy caught one. So I guess it was once again dead. Not sure what the trick is...I sure haven't found it. I think I may try Steilicoom next time. Any suggestions?
