While elk hunting on Sunday my dad and I were walking out and old logging road back to our truck and as I was looking over into this deep canyon I noticed a white spot and an outline. I said to my dad wait whats that. Picked up the binos and noticed right away it was a buck. We watched him for about 10 minutes or so as he stood there like a statue. He was in this small patch of pines in the middle of a completely open steep hillside. Never would have expected a deer to be there. After a few minutes I said to my dad I think hes just a 2pt. Well not long after that he turned his head and sure enough he was just a forked horn. I've seen pics of some that you guys have posted but I've never seen a 2pt that big while hunting before so I thought I'd share. Anyways little did we know he had a doe with him also that was hidden behind one of the small pines. Funny thing was he wouldn't move for nothing so I pulled out my cow call and chirped a couple times and that got both of them moving sidehill to another patch of pines.
