Right on man! A quail by yourself... without a dog. That's a trophy.
Stan Marsh: "My Uncle Jimbo says we gotta get up there early. Right Uncle Jimbo?"

Jimbo: "That's right, Stanley. Animals are much easier to shoot in the morning."

I think you need a longer barrel on that shotgun for starters  :twocents:

Good job, quail are my favorite to hunt and are number 1 to eat.

Keep hammering. As winter rolls in Down there the coveys will be larger and easier to spot.. Keep your eyes to the ground in there too....have found some really nice sheds in that area..

Good job on the Quail.  I have a mentor and no dog myself so can't help you.  I will say that the Eastern Wa populations seem really good this year.  We came across 12 coveys yesterday.

Find someone with dogs!  Good luck.

Looks like the barrel worked fine  a longer one may help for longer shots but just keep hunting.  If your able to make it to the lower valley wapato area I know of a some spots to hunt without a dog.
Don't forget to pick up your shells!
