How do you like this '08 CO buck. This buck is only 25" wide, but has 20" G-2's and a 15" G-4. Grosses 197 4/8 with a 21" mainbeam! Would have grossed 206" typical if both sides matched. To think that I drove by this buck every morning during the 3rd season?
My buddy and brother tried to convince me to sit on a nice rimrock over-looking the area this guy called home, but I would not listen......

I like that buck a lot!!! Great G-2s, G-3s ands G-4s. He is the kind we were looking for. His main beams are a little short but it is pretty rare to find one that has it all. With backs and fronts like that I would not have looked at him for very long. We saw a lot of bucks with either good backs and crab fronts or weak backs and good fronts this year, how about you?

I saw 5 buck 170-180", nothing that I got too excited about. My brother saw a 190" gross typical and another buddy saw a 190" buck with crabclaw fronts - a huge 32-33" frame. It was a tough year.

Sounds like you did better than we did. I never saw a buck that would go 180. Lots of 160 type bucks. Here is a buck one of my friends shot while we were there ( he lives there) this year. I didn't see anything this good. We roughed him at 185.

160's.....That sounds like my week in Montana. I do not even know how many 150-165" bucks I saw in MT. Just couldn't find that 180"+ buck. The game wardens I spoke to said that it was the worst year they could remember.

We saw a couple hundred 150-180 bucks as well but only a couple I would put in the 190 range, they put all their growth this year into their bodies, don't know how they can make the choice

I have to agree to the weak antler growth this year. If you are seeing mulitple 180"+ bucks in MT, you are hunting a great area. Have you ever whacked a 180"+ buck in MT? I have only seen two, but one was after legal shooting light and the other was hauling ass at 500 yards
