It is hard to follow one great vision in a world of darkness and of many changing shadows. Among these shadows men get lost.

Albany Circuit Court Judge Honorable Robert A. Castor ordered Clark to pay $30,240 in fines and suspended his hunting, fishing and trapping privileges for 36 years.

Good deal on the fine, but suspending licenses for folks that never purchased them in the first place is laughable.
Love how social media is giving up a lot of these clowns.

What's so impressive?  :dunno: they chose not to file multiple charges against the poacher, the prosecution also dropped four other charges. Basically he got a slap on the wrist, a fine and loss of hunting privileges    no jail time, no house arrest, no confication of weapons or vehicle used in the crime. If anything he might be one step closer to doing time, IF HE GETS CAUGHT AGAIN.  :bash:

You must not be familiar with the way WA prosecutes poachers....

my point is,  that this seems on par with the way Washington prosecutes poachers. No real charges per say, just a fine. Please enlighten me to why I should be impressed? We are talking about prosecution, correct?

The fine seems much larger, like 6-10x. I guess you're right, I was trying to be positive about something today but screw it. :bash:

I feel your frustration. I wanted to expand on my previous post but didn't want to derail or draw this thread off-topics.

$30,240 just seems like a s#i!load of money compared to what I've seen in WA...
Also a 36 year hunting ban seems like a s#i!load more than what I've seen in WA...

That's what I'm talking about. Make the penalty steep enough that these *censored*es won't take a chance of being caught.

I love the fine portion but just wish they could come up with an alternative to the loss of hunting privilege because that is a waste. Maybe do something more like a big fine and then have to do a certain amount of community service directly related to fish and wildlife. Make them pick up garbage, repair fences or whatever. They stole from the wildlife and from mother nature so it would be nice to force them to give something back.

Like this?

$10,000 in fines and restitution; six months in jail with work release; four years probation; 150 hours of community service; nationwide revocation of hunting, gun-owning privileges for three years; levied in 2005, against Michael James Gates, of Yakima, Wash., for killing a trophy-class bull elk and two mule deer while hunting illegally in southeast Washington in October 2002.
