100 grain Montecs.  Haven't hunted with them yet, but they fly pretty damn close to my field tips.

I know I am the odd one out but I use expandables because they are legal to use for me. But the first year I bow hunted in MD I tried 100g muzzys and shot a doe at 8 feet and the shot was right in the sweet spot and the arrow didn't even go all the way through and there was at least 16 inchs of arrow shaft sticking out the entry wound, never found blood or the broken arrow, I looked for her the rest of the day and most of the enxt day, went home and bought some expandables and have not looked back. The muzzy was a brandnew head.

I am with huntnphool and some of the other here ... Most of you would get the same results from several of these broadheads on the market as long as the placement was there! That said I am no expert either but I have taken 9 animals with a bow since I started hunting and all with a thunderhead 100 ... now I'm not telling you that cause I think they are the best but because as a personal preference it's all I've ever used and I'm comfortable with them. To me it's kinda of like my steelheading ... use what you have the most confidence in, and you'll have great results! Also I'm a geezer and I am afraid if I change something I'll be going back to the drawing board and starting all over ...  I know what has done me well in the past and I stick with it! Just ask Jon (archery288) how long I fussed over changing to carbons a couple of years ago!  I think I asked every question and even some that didn't have anything to do with arrows before I was convinced to try some  :dunno:  Thanks again Jon for putting up with me  :chuckle:

Thunderhead 100's for me! I've shot a lot of head's and I do not like to tune my arrows. Thunderhead is the only head I've shot that once I've lined the blades up with my fetch, they all fly the same. Very good penetration and large holes. The blood behind the left shoulder is the exit hole. BTW, I shoot a Darton bow.

I used 100 gr. Thunderheads for years but some folks on here convinced me to try 4 blade slick tricks.  I haven't shot an animal with them yet but I love the way that they fly.  They are much more accurate that my old T-Heads without having to tune them.

Can you just screw them on and don't worry about how they line up with your fletch?

I did and they worked perfectly.  I am shooting 3 vane arrows with 4 blade broadheads.  None of them line up but it doesn't seem to matter, even out to 60+ yards.  With Thunderheads they were more apt to plane with a little wind but I shot the slick tricks in a 15 mph wind with little effect except slightly off to one side or the other but no planing.  I also switched to Blazer vanes which tend to be less effected by wind as well.  I prefer to hunt in storms so wind plane is a big issue with me.  I'll be hunting the storm coming this evening and tomorrow morning (if my bow doesn't freeze up), we'll have to see how they fare.  (hopefully)  ;)

I killed my elk this year with a 125g mag slick trick.  Very impressed with the performance.  I've used a bunch of different bhs over the years.  The only one that you wouldn't get me to shoot again is a muzzy.  I haven't played with the newer ones that Paul is using but the older cheapos are not qualified for my quiver.  I've weighed a ton of heads on my scale and never have I gotten a muzzy head that weighed what it is supposed to.  If you are wanting to shoot a similar head that costs and performs like the muzzy.  Go with innerloc.  Same basic design and cost.  They will spin better and always weighed what they were supposed to.

My buddy in california loves slick tric.. I have not shot them myself, and I cant not say anything about the old muzzys, my first BR were good ol innerloc 125 way back in the day, I have only shot muzzys the last 2 years and loved them and only found them to be a grain or 2 off of the 100gr they say they are... again I think its way more important to put the BH where it needs to be I dont care if the blades are dull as hell, with todays bows the animal is down baby! but obviously make sure your blades are always razor sharp...
