Wow ! My name is celia Fritch I work at butcher boys  and personally wrapped all of this guys ( I'd like to say gentlemens but really can't ) meat .my reputation proceeds me as a competent wrapper as well as knowledgable customer service rep. I am also the girl he came in and talked to on several occasions without being called, verbally abusing myself and any other girl he could talk to. I'm sorry that you are so unhappy somewhere in you're life you feel it's necessary to take it out on girls behind a counter but as you found out I won't be one of them . If anybody reading these posts has any questions or concerns feel free to come in and watch us cut and wrap your animal . Lying on the internet is just juvenile .

Then maybe you can explain this to me, a couple years ago I looked around for pricing on a 10 + lb Crown of Pork for a family reunion Christmas dinner.
I was getting prices from $4.50 a pound to $6.00 a pound. I had had a bad experience with Butcher boys in the past so I was leery of trying them again. I gave them the benefit of the doubt.
I stopped in at Butcher Boys and was quoted $4.00 a pound! The "owner" he said, wrote me up an order at $4.00 a pound for a 10.2 lb Crown. December 23rd, I go to pick up my Crown, the place is crammed with people. I notice there is a paper bag wrapped package sitting above behind the counter with my name on it. $4.00 a lb is written on the bag.
I hand the guy behind the counter my ticket, he grabs the bag off the shelf, grabs a magic marker and scratches off the $4.00 a and writes $10.00 on it?
I ask him why he did that?
He says it costs $10.00 a lb.
I show him my ticket and where on the bag it is marked $4.00 a lb, and he puts the bag back on the shelf, and yells "next"!
He looks back at me and says take it or get out.
Our whole meal was planned around a 10 lb crown of pork. There is nowhere I could have found a replacement on such short notice. I hated paying a rip off like that, short of destroying our Family reunion I had no option but to pay it.
I paid the $10.00 lb, and told him he was dishonest man that would get no more business from me.
He laughed and said get the h3ll out.

I do know if I owned a business, and if 1/4 of the amount of people as there are just in this thread, say they had horrible dealings with my company?
I would be going out of my way to fix the problem.
Yet every year we hear more and more people who have been ripped off one way or another by Butcher Boys.

I find it ironic a Butcher Boys employee accusing anyone on here of being dishonest, though I do not know you, so I won't question your integrity.
You employer is a dishonest piece of work!

Every time Butcher Boys name is brought up in conversation, I will tell everyone I can how much of a ripoff they are!

 :chuckle:
Sorry you had your elk lost/stolen/screwed up. This place sounds like quite the dump.
From reading this thread I have decided that I will never use this business and if I hear the name brought up I will definitely warn people away and relate how multiple people have had horrible experiences with them.
I own my own business. If a client has an issue I listen to them and I do everything in my power to fix the issue. If I ever saw a thread like this on a forum somewhere talking about me or my business I would be deeply ashamed. I work hard to avoid making screw ups that would lead to this kind of thread. However, If I did see it then something I would not do is start posting and increasing the drama.
The responses I read here have emphasized to me how incredibly unprofessional this company is. The owner should be absolutely embarrassed and ashamed at how his employees are representing him and his business. While reading their posts I could almost hear chants of Jerry, Jerry, Jerry.........in the background.
Luckily, we still live in a capitalist system. If people want to create a negative atmosphere then they should expect word of mouth to cause their business to dwindle.

It sounds like there have been plenty of problems with this place from numerous people, and on a wide variety of issues too. I'm glad word got out. Those saying don't bash them, why? So the next person can have trouble with them too?

If a company offers a good service (or even better, great service) at a reasonable price word will get out and it will bring in more customers. Should they not say anything either? Same is true of bad service - word gets out and it will deter people from going there. Is how it works.

Take care of your customers and they'll take care of you

"I spent $1048 for 4 animals. That's a pretty good chunk of cash; paid up front. I consider that a good paying customer that trust the butcher to follow thru on their end. "

$250 /critter?

Keep in touch next season and I would be very willing to show/help you process (for free)....IF I get an animal and you are available the day I am cutting it, you could come over and watch or help in the process. Only way you will ensure that all the game makes it to your freezer is keeping eyes on the prize....should be well over what you are describing for return on an elk, easy 100+lbs ground, WAY more than 16 steaks and tenderloins, several nice roasts , and there should be 60-100lbs of additional scraps to can, freeze for crockpot or grind up... just sayin

So I also work at butcher boys and have for the past 10 years. It is crazy to me someone who is a grown man would come on here and slander us with false facts. You came in multiple times and caused a scene. First off we have never stolen anyones meat EVER! We are highly monitored by the game wardens. We do carry elk and deer for purchase it is also brought in from New Zealand got the receipts to prove it. The man who started this thread is very misinformed as to the cuts and what you get back. Smoked vs fresh meat there is always a difference. You will always lose more weight if u have stuff  smoked. When u bone out your meat and bring it in a cutter needs to follow your lines which could have effected where the roasts and steaks are. Finally he has yet to talk to John who is the owner in person.  He has just yelled and called all the girls names. In fact the girl he calls a meth head told him on multiple occasions if you are unhappy or believe something was messed up John would be happy to work with u to make it right. We also never called him to say he was missing meat he called us saying there was a bag missing which he knew he had already picked  up everything. He did get at least 3 calls saying meat was ready because he was the contact person for 4 animals in a month span. Get your facts straight before going on social media and slamming a business who bust there ass to make sure they have done everything to the best of their abilities.

It seems like these workers that work there just joined the site to jump in the conversation

I am happy to say, that I got a call from John this morning and he made it right. Like others have stated on here; John will take ownership of the problem and come up with a solution. I won't go into all the details, but I have no complaints and will come back next year. The guy cares about his customers. Thou I did not want anything that wasn't owed too me; I am grateful for what he did today. I encourage others to give these guys a shot and keep an open mind that businesses make mistakes. Perhaps the moderators can please delete this topic. Thank GH

After all that now your endorsing them?! Wow, what does it feel like to be bought any way?

I'm not as far removed as you guys think. There reputation precedes them regardless of the owners likability and I still think it's hilarious the 180 the OP did with how far he was taking it in the beginning

You have no idea what any of the details are. What John knew or didn't know. I am very fair and would rather believe the good in people. If says this is what he knew or didn't know; then I'm going to take the mans word.

The details are in your first post. Sorry, but your bashing for day and then changing your tune so quick has me wondering if there really was any problem to begin with.

I have had a couple issues with a butcher and after the second time I will never go back, I always warn others........and NEVER change my stance no matter what they did to try and change my mind. The issues were legit and I will not chance it again.
