New Record Buck just downed!
« on: November 17, 2014, 04:53:22 PM »
Smallest buck ever taken at Bearpaw!

I think this green score will hold pretty close after the required 60 day drying period. (By the way it's a legal buck, one antler was at least one inch, taken in an any buck area.)  :chuckle:

Green Score:
G1- 4/8", circumference 1 4/8
G1- 1 4/8, circumference 1 3/8
Total B&C Green Score - 4 7/8

The hunter had only one day to hunt, he missed a buck this morning then was a little too slow on another buck, but this monster whitetail was destined to be his trophy and stood to the challenge. One shot and he dropped. Even though the antlers are of record proportions this beast of a buck ought to be good eating and we're glad to get him out of the gene pool, so everyone is happy!

I can only hope to down one with that kind of mass and character one day. Once in a lifetime buck right there. All joking aside, congrats to the hunter! Meat in the freezer is better than an un notched tag.

This is not to be taken lightly, it was an arduous task for the guide to determine if this was a trophy we dare pull the trigger on!  :chuckle:

Awesome kill.
These little guys may not score high on points... but... they get the highest score for table fare

You can only score those beasts if you shoot them in the head.
