Wolves and Tigers

So many parallels to wolves...I wonder if WDFW/USFWS runs covert operations in China?

BEIJING (AP) — A rare Siberian tiger released into the wild by Russian President Vladimir Putin is keeping farmers in northeastern China on edge.

-Xinhua said the farm's owner, Guo Yulin, was stressed about the tiger, but that he would be compensated by the local forestry department for the loss of the 18 goats.

-Local experts found the tiger's footprints around the goat house and on its roof, Xinhua reported. Guo was asked to either relocate his goats or reinforce his farm, it said.

Yikes.... You mean to tell me that government involvement with depredating wildlife is not a uniquely American issue!?!?!

Many 3rd world countries place animals above humans,  doesn't mean we need to do the same here.

So Putin likes tigers, just doesn't want them in his backyard. Sound familiar?

I don't think most in those third world countries that actually have to live with animals actually place the animals above people.  It is more the huggers from first world countries living in cities with romantic notions that are exerting influence from half a world away.  I think most people over in those places in poverty and near starving would like to get rid of the elephants that stomp their crops or the tigers that eat their kids or have a job logging a protected gorilla sanctuary.
