Is rattlesnake mountain open for hiking (yet)?
« on: November 26, 2014, 02:27:16 PM »
I have been hearing rumors it was being opened for tourism/hiking, but that was about a year ago.
Anybody know anything?

The bill was signed into law at the end of December. Unsure if USFWS has opened it yet.

hope they keep people out.  if they open it up it will  look like the potholes in a short time.    one reason to keep people out is weeds.  there are places on the mountain that have no tumbleweeds or knapweed or invasive weeds.    if it is opened up sooner or later it will burn and weeds will replace the natural habitat.   juniper dunes is another area we need to limit use to prevent it from being destroyed.   mike w
